The Ad Strategist works within the team and with the Paid Media Manager to facilitate pieces of the paid digital distribution process. Primary Accountabilities • Manage partnerships with third party ad platforms to secure efficient advertising costs, including: • Creating and facilitating the process for engaging third party vendors • Making strategic decisions regarding how third parties are used in campaigns • Create and maintain processes for using new and emerging ad products • Create and maintain advertising best practices as it relates to the use of creative assets, ad copy and targeting • Facilitate testing of new ideas regarding ad creation process • Research and test new ad platforms and placements • Work with Paid Media Manager to design and create a schedule for quarterly A/B tests • Inform Paid Media Manager of ad strategy during campaign proposal stages, including: • Determining targeting guardrails based on client requests • Quoting audience prices and maximum spends for business development • Create ad campaign schedules, which includes working with Client Services to ensure all campaign guardrails are observed • Assist with interdepartmental communications, such as the newsletter, lunch & learns, webinars, etc. • Assist in the creation of ad campaigns, as needed Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in business, communications, advertising, public relations or related field • 2+ years of progressive experience within a marketing or advertising technology firm • Must have experience in digital ad creation and have thorough knowledge of major social ad platforms • Must have native writing skills in the language of social media, with at least an active Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook account • Experience in digital media, in-store media, e-Commerce software, analytics and business operations knowledge preferred • Understanding of traditional and interactive media planning elements • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google solutions Individual Competencies • Integrity: Gains the trust of others by taking responsibility for own actions and telling the truth. • Adaptable: Responds to change with a willingness to learn new ways to accomplish work objectives with a positive attitude.
