The Advertising Director is employed by The Red & Black Publishing Co. and will work with the professional and student leadership of the organization to develop digital, print and new media revenue-generating products, promote The Red & Black on campus and in the community and, most importantly, manage and grow important client relationships. The Advertising Director works with the Student Ad Manager to train and develop our team of student account executives. • Managing the University of Georgia account list for The Red & Black. Achieve budgeted sales performance on a monthly basis Oversees relationships with national and agency accounts Serve as direct supervisor for creative agency staff, formulating strategic direction and incorporating the agency team’s process into the advertising department Mentor agency students for improved client relationships, project management and agency exposure Consult as a strategic business partner via our creative agency, which offers customers a variety of advertising, marketing and audience sales solutions Identify and pursue ways to increase individual, client and company performance Negotiate large deals and contracts across the full offering of products Works with Chief Financial Officer to set revenue goals in the annual budgeting process — reviews and updates goals after first half of fiscal year Serves as liaison with professional media organizations to foster mentorship, internships, job opportunities and future development of student staff Participates in training and personal development Represents The Red & Black in the community, such as attending community events and professional gatherings • This is a full time salaried position.
