President / Managing Director – Advertising Agency

Location: Dallas–Fort Worth, TX

A rapidly growing, privately held organization is seeking an experienced advertising agency executive to build and lead a new full-service agency from the ground up.

The parent organization operates a diverse portfolio of businesses with a significant presence in commercial real estate, development and construction. These affiliated businesses will provide an established initial client base for the new agency.

This is not a traditional corporate marketing position. We are looking for an agency leader and builder who understands how to develop great creative work, serve clients, build teams and ultimately grow an advertising business.

The long-term vision is to create a sophisticated, full-service agency that initially supports the organization's portfolio of companies and ultimately expands to serve external third-party clients.

What You'll Do

Build the agency's strategy, structure, capabilities and team from the ground up
Develop the agency's positioning, service offerings and go-to-market strategy
Lead integrated advertising and brand initiatives across a portfolio of affiliated companies
Oversee capabilities across brand strategy, creative, digital, paid media, social, content and production
Serve as the senior strategic partner to company leadership and internal clients
Recruit and develop a high-performing team across creative, account management, strategy, media and other key functions
Establish agency processes, workflows, pricing and operating standards
Manage budgets and ultimately assume responsibility for the agency's P&L and overall performance
Lead new business efforts as the agency expands beyond its initial internal client base
Build relationships with prospective clients and lead high-level pitches and presentations
Develop the agency into a scalable, standalone business with a strong reputation in the marketplace

What We're Looking For

Significant leadership experience within an advertising or creative agency environment
Experience as a Managing Director, Managing Partner, Agency President, General Manager, EVP, agency founder or similar senior leader
Proven ability to build, grow or significantly scale an agency, office, practice or business unit
Strong understanding of the full advertising lifecycle, from strategy and creative development through media and execution
Demonstrated success managing senior-level client relationships
Experience with new business development, pitching and winning clients
Experience building and leading multidisciplinary teams
Strong commercial acumen with an understanding of agency economics, pricing, staffing and profitability
Ability to operate comfortably in an entrepreneurial environment where the infrastructure is still being built
Executive presence with the ability to work directly with ownership and senior leadership

Experience within construction, commercial real estate or development is a plus but not required. We are much more interested in finding an exceptional agency operator who knows how to build a business and can learn the industries it serves.

This opportunity is best suited for someone who has spent their career in the agency world and is ready for the opportunity to build something of their own without having to start completely from zero.

You'll have an established group of companies to serve from day one, significant executive-level visibility and the opportunity to determine what the agency becomes.

We are looking for someone who can take a broad vision and turn it into a business—someone equally comfortable sitting with executives, challenging a creative concept, pitching a prospective client and building the team needed to deliver the work.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
