Advertising Sales Executive

The Local Palate , the South's premiere food culture and lifestyle magazine, is seeking a seasoned, talented, and enthusiastic Advertising Sales Executive. Client relationships within the travel and tourism, consumer products, luxury, and culinary space will be given priority. Experience in the travel / tourism (CVB) world is a plus; an understanding of Southern food culture is essential. Responsibilities: • Present, promote and sell advertising, marketing products / services, sponsorships, and custom publishing opportunities to existing and prospective customers • Close business on a timely basis to meet all advertising deadlines • Continue to develop and expand sales territory • Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing / potential customers to meet their needs • Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships • Achieve agreed-upon sales targets and goals • Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments • Analyze the territory/markets' potential, track sales, and status reports • Manage reports on customer needs, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services • Keep abreast of best practices and promotional trends Requirements: • Minimum 3 years' experience in an account executive or sales management role • Proven ability to generate revenue across multiple media platforms • Great drive and enthusiasm • Ability to travel on a consistent basis when required, for trade conferences and client / agency meetings • Deal oriented with ability to close business during key buying periods • Independently motivated, but with a collaborative spirit • Consistently meets or exceeds goals • Proven understanding of effective budgeting, marketing, forecasting and business planning • Detail-oriented and deadline savvy • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills • Public speaking prowess • Superior writing skills • Flexible, with excellent time-management skills
