Position Summary
The Advertising Sales & Sponsorship Specialist is responsible for growing BBB’s non-dues revenue through digital advertising and sponsorship sales. This role works directly with our pool of 2,200+ Accredited Businesses and community partners to develop customized advertising and sponsorship solutions that align with their business goals while leveraging BBB’s trusted brand and consumer audience. Advertising solutions may include web and search ads, TV ads, email marketing banners, billboards, program and event sponsorships, and more.
This position combines consultative sales, digital marketing strategy, account management, and client success. The ideal candidate is proactive, relationship-driven, tech-savvy, and motivated by helping businesses grow through ethical and effective marketing opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute data-driven sales strategies to grow our advertising client baseLead strategic consultative calls with newly Accredited Businesses to understand their goals and challengesPrepare proposals, sponsorship decks, and advertising recommendations for prospective clientsDesign and present customized digital advertising solutions that deliver measurable resultsUtilize AI-powered tools for lead generation and client insightsManage the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing and account managementMaintain accurate sales activity, pipeline tracking, and client records within CRM systemsMonitor campaign performance and optimize client resultsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure client success and retentionSupport advertiser renewals and identify upsell opportunitiesStay ahead of digital advertising trends and best practicesBuild long-term relationships with advertisersAttend BBB events and represent BBB at community events appropriately, as requestedMeet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual advertising and sponsorship revenue goals.Maintain a robust pipeline of qualified prospects through outreach, networking, referrals, and relationship-building activities.Achieve established client retention and renewal goals through proactive account management and client engagement.Identify and secure upsell and cross-sell opportunities that align with client goals and BBB offerings.Promote advertising and sponsorship opportunities in a manner consistent with BBB's mission, ethical standards, and commitment to marketplace trust.Consistently maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline reporting, and sales activity records within CRM systems.
Skills & Qualifications
1-3 years of experience in digital advertising, media sales, or consultative B2B salesProven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targetsStrong understanding of digital marketing ecosystems (SEO, SEM, social media advertising, etc.)Proficiency with CRM systems and sales automation toolsComfort using AI-powered tools and emerging technologies to support sales, prospecting, and marketing effortsStrong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insightsOutstanding presentation and communication skillsStrong relationship-building and customer service skillsSelf-motivated with strong organizational and time-management abilitiesConsultative mindset with a focus on long-term client successStrategic thinking and problem-solving abilitiesAdaptable to emerging technologies and market changesStrong ethical standards aligned with BBB valuesBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferredFamiliarity with project management software such as Monday.com preferred
Work Environment & Schedule
This position is based in Worcester, MA, with a primarily in-office schedule. Occasional remote work opportunities may be available at the discretion of the supervisor.Our office is open Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.Occasional attendance at evening and weekend events, sponsorship activations, networking opportunities, and community engagement activities may be required.Limited local travel throughout BBB Central New England's service area may be required.As a non-exempt employee, all approved hours worked, including qualifying event attendance and compensable travel time, will be paid in accordance with applicable federal and state wage and hour laws and BBB policies.
Compensation & Benefits
First year expected income: $50,000 - $70,000Commission: This role participates in BBB Central New England's approved Advertising & Sponsorship Commission Plan. Details regarding eligibility, payout schedules, performance requirements, and commission calculations are outlined in a separate commission plan document.Bonus: Annual performance bonus eligibility and referral bonus opportunities.Benefits: Paid holidays, two weeks PTO, health, dental and vision insurance, retirement contributions with company match (eligible after 90 days), and professional development opportunities.
