ONTRAC Home Service Marketing Grand Rapids, Michigan

Digital Marketing Account Manager

ONTRAC | Grand Rapids, MI (In-Person, Downtown) Full-Time | $40,000–$50,000 + performance bumps as you take over accounts

About ONTRACONTRAC is a marketing agency built for home services companies: HVAC, painting and remodeling, window and door repair. We run Meta (Facebook & Instagram) ad campaigns, build websites, and handle branding for clients nationwide. We're a small, growing team based in downtown Grand Rapids, and we're adding a full-time team member to help us serve more clients at a high level.

The RoleYou'll be the day-to-day point person for our clients and a creative contributor on their campaigns. This is a hybrid role: part account management, part creative, with Meta Ads skills layered in over time.

You don't need to be a Meta Ads expert coming in. Experience with ads is great, but it's also something we can fully train. What we can't train is people skills and creative taste. That's what you bring.

What You'll OwnClient communication. Calls, check-ins, updates, and keeping clients confident and informed. You'll be the voice they hear most.Ad creative. Designing and refining ad graphics and assets, working alongside our designers, and developing an eye for what stops the scroll in home services.Campaign work (trained). Building, launching, and monitoring Meta ad campaigns. You'll learn to read CPL, spot creative fatigue, and manage real budgets, with hands-on training from our team across design, web development, and advertising.Account growth. Within months, you'll own real client accounts end to end.Who We're Looking ForGreat with people. You communicate clearly, listen well, and really work to understand somebody's goals. Clients enjoy talking to you. This is the #1 requirement.Hyper attention to detail and real problem solving. We don't mean this in the generic job-description way. In this work, details directly determine whether a client's campaign performs or doesn't. A wrong budget, a sloppy graphic, a broken campaign setup all cost real businesses real money. Our clients deserve the best, so this is a must, not a nice-to-have.Comfortable with design. You don't need to be a pro, but you should expect to learn and get better at this here. If you can work your way around Adobe Illustrator, great. If you're on something like Canva for now, that works as a starting point. Some video editing experience would be great, and knowing your way around the full Adobe Suite is a nice plus.Hungry to learn. You'll be trained hands-on, given real responsibility fast, and have a clear path up as the agency grows. Some ads exposure preferred. If you've run any ads, even for a side project or a small business, that's a strong plus. Raw aptitude with strong writing and numbers also works.SkillsCommunication. Clear, professional, and confident with clients over calls, email, and text.Adobe Suite. Illustrator and Photoshop especially; Premiere Pro or After Effects a plus. Canva works as a starting point.Meta Ads Manager. Any hands-on experience is a plus; full training provided.Video editing. CapCut, Premiere Pro, or similar for short-form social content.Organization and attention to detail. Managing multiple client accounts, deadlines, and deliverables without things slipping.Problem solving. Diagnosing why a campaign, creative, or process isn't working and fixing it.Profiles That Make Sense for This RoleNot sure if you're "qualified"? Here are four types of people who would thrive here:

The social media manager ready for more. You're running social for a local business or a couple of small clients. You can shoot and edit content, you're comfortable in Canva or CapCut, and you're good on calls. You've maybe boosted posts or run a few ad campaigns, but you've capped out where you are and want to learn real paid advertising. The design grad who wants client work. You studied design (or taught yourself) and you're solid in Illustrator and the Adobe Suite, but pure design roles feel limiting. You like talking to people, presenting ideas, and seeing your work actually drive results for a business, not just sit in a portfolio. The sales or account person with a creative side. You're in sales, customer success, or account management and you're great with clients: clear communicator, organized, detail-oriented. On the side you make graphics, edit videos, or built a brand for your own side hustle. You want a role where both halves of that finally count. The self-taught hustler breaking into the industry. You've never worked in marketing or a creative field, but you've taught yourself Adobe, are a good people person and are willing to push to learn more. You're a hard worker ready for your shot, and you just need someone to open the door. What's ImportantThese are the expectations for this role, and we take them seriously:

You take ownership of your work. When you launch a campaign, deliver a graphic, or speak with a client, you stand behind it. We're looking for someone who verifies their own work rather than assuming someone else will catch it.Details are non-negotiable. A typo in an ad, an incorrect budget, or a flawed campaign setup costs our clients real money. This role requires someone who reviews their work carefully, every time.Clients come first. Our clients trust us with their business and their budget. We expect you to treat their results as your own, communicate honestly, and keep them informed at every step. You're committed to continuous improvement. Design, advertising, communication, all of it. We'll provide the training, but the drive to get better has to come from you. This is not a role for someone looking to coast. You bring a strong work ethic. This is a small team where everyone carries real responsibility. Effort is visible here, and it's what moves both your career and our clients forward. What's Not ImportantA degree. We don't care where you went to school. Show us a solid portfolio and what you can actually do. How to ApplySend your resume plus anything that shows your creative side: designs, social posts, ads you've made, a brand you've built on the side.
