Artist/Retail Sales Associate

You will support the work of our primary designer, as well as take on a key role in managing the successful operation of the studio, with artistic flair. The successful candidate will provide excellent service to customers visiting our studio, and will also be a savvy salesperson who can identify a customer's needs and the best way to meet those needs with our products and services. An ability to visualize artistic presentation is an important attribute. Ultimately, you will ensure that customers leave our store satisfied, our primary designer is supported, and you have contributed to the store’s profitability. Responsibilities Display a deep understanding of chalk/mineral paint, materials and methods OR have an artist's eye and a willingness to accept instruction in these areas Provide accurate information about our products, pricing and after-sales services Greet and direct customers, answer questions, and provide an enthusiastic "listening ear" Inform customers about upcoming workshops, available services, discounts and special offers Stay up-to-date with new products/services Assist with advertising, social media posts, email communications with customers Assist with staging of items in the studio Assist with painting and refurbishment projects Cross-sell products, and manage returns Ensure racks are fully stocked and pricing kept up-to-date Skills Demonstrated Passion, Integrity, and Trust-worthiness Proven knowledge of key principles of paint and restoration (this will be tested) Willingness to take instruction and follow directions Understanding of the retail sales process, and cross-selling skills Excellent communication skills, capable of building trusting relationships
