Associate Director Programmatic Media

We're partnering with a growing marketing agency seeking an experienced programmatic media leader to drive strategy, execution, and performance across a portfolio of client accounts. This role combines hands-on platform expertise with client leadership and team development responsibilities.The ideal candidate brings deep experience in programmatic advertising, a strong understanding of the broader paid media landscape, and the ability to translate business objectives into effective media strategies. This individual will work closely with clients, internal teams, and agency leadership to deliver measurable results while helping shape best practices across the media function.ResponsibilitiesLead programmatic media strategy, planning, execution, and optimization across multiple client accounts.Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic recommendations and performance insights.Develop audience, channel, and targeting strategies aligned with business objectives and campaign goals.Oversee campaign setup, quality assurance, pacing, performance monitoring, and ongoing optimization.Manage media investments across a variety of digital channels, including display, video, CTV, audio, native, and emerging platforms.Partner with cross-functional teams including paid search, paid social, analytics, creative, and account services to develop integrated media solutions.Analyze campaign performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scale, and overall return on investment.Support measurement and reporting initiatives, ensuring stakeholders have clear visibility into campaign performance and business impact.Lead performance reviews, strategic planning discussions, and client presentations.Mentor and develop junior media team members while helping establish operational best practices.Contribute to new ideas, process improvements, and innovation across the broader media organization.Qualifications7+ years of experience in digital media, programmatic advertising, or performance marketing, ideally within an agency environment.Strong hands-on experience with leading demand-side platforms such as The Trade Desk, DV360, Amazon DSP, Yahoo DSP, or similar technologies.Experience managing campaigns across display, video, connected TV (CTV), audio, native, and other digital channels.Understanding of audience targeting, campaign optimization, measurement, attribution, and performance analysis.Experience managing significant media budgets and delivering measurable business outcomes.Ability to leverage data and insights to develop strategic recommendations and improve campaign performance.Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills.Experience leading, mentoring, or developing team members.Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree and industry certifications are a plus.Compensation for this role ranges from $120,000 to $140,000 annuallyBenefit offerings for full-time employment include medical, dental, vision, term life and AD&D insurance, short-term and long-term disability and additional voluntary benefits.
