POSITION SUMMARY
The Associate Media Planner supports the development and execution of integrated media strategies across traditional and digital channels. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, analytically minded planner with foundational digital experience who is eager to grow their strategic and in-platform skills. The Associate Media Planner reports to the Associate Media Director and works closely with Senior Media Planners, the account team, and media operations to help deliver best-in-class work for clients, including education and automotive brands.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in developing and managing cross-channel media plans, including Broadcast TV, Cable, Print, Out-of-Home, Programmatic, and Digital formats (display, video, social, mobile, CTV/OTT).Carefully review all work to ensure accuracy and consistently high quality standards.Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Support digital strategy recommendations and build hands-on experience in platforms such as Google Ads, Meta, and programmatic DSPs.Gather statistics and research to support media plan development and buying directives.Follow the DBA media project process and support the tactical execution of media products for clients.Participate in discussions with the Associate Media Director, Media team, and Account Services to understand media objectives and strategies for advertising campaigns.Manage assigned daily tasks in support of the media product.Assist with analyzing demographic data and consumer profiles to identify target audiences and evaluate media vehicles.Help calculate reach and frequency of potential media vehicles to inform media plan development.Prepare media plan materials and presentations for review by the Associate Media Director, and make revisions as needed before plans move to the VP Media Director, Account Services, or the client.Stay current on media trends and build an understanding of each client's business.Coordinate with internal teams (account and finance) to help ensure media plans align with campaign goals, budgets, and timelines.Pull and monitor campaign performance data and flag potential optimization opportunities.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Bachelor's degree required, with a concentration in Business, Advertising, Marketing, Communications, or Statistics preferred.1 to 3 years of media planning preferably in an advertising agency setting.Working knowledge of digital media, including Programmatic, Internet Display, Mobile, and Social Media.Familiarity with traditional media types such as Broadcast Television, Cable, Radio, Print, and Out-of-Home (Billboards and Transit).Must be able to commute to the Rochester, Michigan office Tuesday through Thursday each week.Proficiency in Excel and Canva.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Exposure to Mediaforce or similar platforms.Familiarity with media research tools such as Prime Lingo (Scarborough), Experian-Simmons, MRI, ComScore, and Google Analytics.Experience supporting clients in the Automotive, Higher Education, Healthcare, Quick Service Restaurant, or Retail categories.Google Ads certification, or willingness to obtain it.
