Our mission is to cut out the middleman, engage directly with customers, and build community by offering fresh, healthy food options.1The RoleWe are seeking an enthusiastic, dependable, and self-motivated individual to serve as our Farmers Market Sales Representative. This is a temporary/contract position requiring commitment primarily on weekends.Your main responsibility is to represent Spice Pilgrim, managing our booth and engaging directly with customers. You must be ready to discuss our products in detail, including their origins, freshness, and the care that goes into their production.1Key Responsibilities:
• Work independently to set up and tear down the market booth according to company standards.
• Work Saturdays and Sundays, generally between 7:00 am–3:00 pm.
• Engage courteously and proactively with all passersby (a friendly "Hi" or "Good morning" is a must).1
• Manage all sales transactions, including being proficient in basic math and giving exact change.
• Promote our pricing structure, including bundled deals (e.g., mix and match three items for discounted pricing).1
• Represent the company's commitment to high quality, discussing unique items
Markets:You will be representing us at various local markets, including major locations such as PSU, Vancouver, Lake Oswego, Oregon City, and Milwaukie Farmers' Markets.2Required Skills and Qualifications
• Interpersonal Skills: Must be outgoing, approachable, honest, and excellent with people.
• Accountability: Highly self-motivated, responsible, and capable of managing all tasks alone.
• Physical Demands:
• Ability to bend and lift up to 50 lbs. [from user prompt].
• Capable of setting up and tearing down a 10 x 10 pop-up tent, tables, and display items.
• Comfortable standing for extended periods of time and being exposed to the outdoor environment, including inclement weather.
• Logistics:
• Must be an early riser.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and a personal, insured vehicle with adequate, clean, covered space to carry all supplies and product inventory.
• Own a reliable smartphone for business use.
CompensationThis position offers a competitive base pay, with a commission structure providing additional earnings based on sales performance
