The City of Springfield’s Department of Public Information and Civic Engagement is looking for a creative, strategic **Communications Coordinator** to help shape how our community connects with the City.

In this role, you’ll manage the City’s digital presence across assigned social media platforms and create content that informs, engages, and connects residents with the services, people, and initiatives that impact their community.

**What You’ll Do**

* Develop and execute engaging social media and digital content strategies.
* Create, write, schedule, and publish content across assigned platforms.
* Help shape the City’s online voice and ensure communications are consistent and on-brand.
* Use analytics and audience insights to improve content and engagement.
* Respond to questions and comments on social media and help connect residents with City resources.
* Develop creative campaigns and digital storytelling that showcase City services, programs, employees, and community initiatives.
* Create a variety of communication materials, including graphics, presentations, newsletters, fact sheets, and web content.
* Support communications at City events, news conferences, town meetings, and other community activities.
* Stay current on social media, digital communications, graphic design, and public engagement trends.

Examples of duties

**Experience, Education, and Training**

* Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications, or a related field;

**AND**

* One year of responsible work experience in electronic and print media.

* None required.
