Communications Specialist

Job Description: The Communications Specialist will report to the Executive Director and support content development for: PFIR, U.S. Tech Workers, Doctors without Jobs and the Center for Progressive Urban Politics. Key responsibilities include writing, copy editing, proofreading and content management. Content management includes: • Newsletters – Determining content, editing Executive Director’s letter and preparing for distribution; 6 issues per month • Social media - Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn • Websites: PFIR, U.S. Tech Workers, Doctors without Jobs, Center for Progressive Urban Politics • Press releases, media alerts, press statements • Video scripting • Digital advertising Skills required: • Ten years of communications experience in any combination of journalism, marketing communications, public relations or corporate communications. About the Organization: Progressives for Immigration Reform (PFIR) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that educates the public on the unintended consequences of mass migration, and supports policies that protect worker rights. The organization has four full- time employees, including the Executive Director, and works with a variety of freelance journalists, marketing agencies and political activists.
