About the RoleWe are looking for a smart, analytical, detail-oriented Digital Media Buyer / Manager to join our team and take ownership of digital audio media buying and campaign performance for our clients.
This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to dive into the data and connect with experts to create excellent outcomes. You will be responsible for planning, negotiating, executing, monitoring, analyzing, and continuously optimizing digital audio campaigns across podcast and streaming environments.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable negotiating with media partners, digging into campaign data, building and analyzing Excel reports, identifying performance trends, and figuring out what needs to change to make a campaign perform optimally.
You should be naturally curious, highly organized, comfortable working with numbers, and motivated by finding opportunities to improve performance and scale successful campaigns.
Initially, you will work closely with senior team members as you learn our clients, processes, and expectations. As you become proficient, you will take on increasing client-facing responsibility, with the expectation that you will participate in client communications and discussions by approximately your third month.
What You'll DoDigital Audio Media BuyingPlan and execute digital audio media buys across podcast, streaming audio, and other relevant digital audio platforms.Research and evaluate publishers, podcast networks, streaming platforms, inventory, audiences, pricing, and targeting opportunities.Negotiate rates, added value, placements, audience guarantees, makegoods, and other media terms.Develop and maintain strong relationships with media partners and vendors.Manage the full campaign lifecycle from planning and negotiation through execution, optimization, and reporting.Ensure campaigns launch accurately, on time, and according to client strategy and budget.Campaign Management & OptimizationMonitor campaign performance continuously and identify opportunities to improve results.Review pixel-tracked and conversion data carefully to understand what is and isn't working.Analyze performance by publisher, podcast, platform, audience, creative, placement, geography, frequency, and other relevant variables.Make data-driven optimization recommendations and implement changes quickly.Identify high-performing inventory and audiences and develop strategies to scale them.Troubleshoot underperforming campaigns and work with media partners to resolve issues.Monitor pacing, delivery, spend, impressions, conversions, CPA/ROAS and other campaign KPIs.Maintain a high level of accuracy in campaign setup, trafficking, tracking, reporting, and billing.Data & ReportingUse Excel extensively to analyze campaign performance and create actionable reports.Demonstrate strong proficiency with Pivot Tables, lookups, formulas, filtering, sorting, and data organization.Translate large amounts of campaign data into clear insights and recommendations.Regularly review performance against client goals and proactively identify trends or issues.Help develop and improve internal reporting and media analysis processes.Client CommunicationInitially support senior team members in client meetings, calls, and communications.By approximately month three, begin participating directly in client conversations related to media performance and recommendations.Clearly communicate campaign performance, insights, challenges, and optimization recommendations.Build credibility with clients by demonstrating command of the data and understanding of their business objectives.Present recommendations in a clear, concise, and confident manner.What We're Looking For2+ years of experience in Audio digital media buying, media planning, performance marketing, or a related agency/media role.Hands-on experience with Audio digital media, preferably including podcast, streaming audio, programmatic, or other performance-oriented channels.Strong analytical and quantitative skills.Advanced or highly proficient Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and the ability to manipulate and analyze large datasets.Experience working with pixels, conversion tracking, attribution, and performance data.Understanding of campaign KPIs and how to optimize media against defined goals.Demonstrated ability to negotiate with media vendors and partners.Excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership.Ability to manage multiple campaigns, deadlines, vendors, and priorities simultaneously.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Comfortable presenting data and recommendations to clients.A proactive mindset, you won't wait for someone to tell you that a campaign is underperforming; you identify the issue and recommend what to do about it.Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with account, creative, media, and analytics teams.Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, communications, business, analytics, or a related field is preferred but not required if experience is strong.What Success Looks LikeFirst 30 days:
Learn our clients, media strategies, systems, reporting processes, vendors, and campaign workflows. Develop a strong understanding of our approach to digital audio buying and performance measurement.
First 60 days:
Begin independently managing portions of campaigns, analyzing performance, communicating with vendors, and making optimization recommendations.
By 90 days:
Own campaigns with increasing independence, proactively identify opportunities to improve and scale performance, confidently analyze pixel-tracked data, and begin participating directly in client conversations.
Longer term:
Become a trusted media expert who can independently manage digital audio campaigns from strategy through execution and optimization, negotiate effectively with partners, and serve as a knowledgeable resource for both clients and the internal team.
Compensation$75,000–$95,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
