Director of Admissions, Marketing & Public Relations

Position Summary

The Director of Admissions, Marketing & Strategic Growth is responsible for overseeing census development, admissions operations, referral relationship management, community outreach, and strategic marketing initiatives across St. Margaret’s Family of Care entities, including skilled nursing, long-term care, hospice, companion care, pharmacy services, and therapy partnerships.

This role leads growth strategy while ensuring operational excellence in admissions processes, referral conversion, community visibility, and partner engagement. The position serves as a key liaison between hospitals, physicians, case managers, families, community organizations, and internal leadership teams.

The ideal candidate is highly relationship-driven, operationally organized, strategic in business development, and capable of balancing census goals with strong team leadership and compassionate customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Admissions & Census Management

Oversee admissions operations for multiple facilities and service lines
Develop and execute census growth strategies for skilled nursing, long-term care, hospice, and companion care services
Monitor daily census activity, admissions trends, discharges, referral conversions, and day count performance
Analyze referral and census data to identify growth opportunities and operational barriers
Collaborate with clinical, financial, and leadership teams to ensure appropriate and timely admissions decisions
Maintain strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and long-term care placement processes
Assist families with long-term care planning, Medicaid application coordination, and transition support
Ensure admissions documentation, compliance records, and resident files are accurate, complete, and audit-ready

Marketing & Business Development

Lead marketing and outreach efforts throughout the Greater New Orleans region
Build and maintain referral relationships with hospitals, physicians, case managers, social workers, assisted living communities, and community organizations
Coordinate facility tours, networking meetings, in-services, appreciation events, and educational presentations
Plan and execute community events, senior outreach initiatives, fundraisers, and healthcare networking opportunities
Oversee social media messaging, branding consistency, reputation management, and promotional campaigns
Track return on investment (ROI) for outreach initiatives, advertising efforts, and referral partnerships
Collaborate with external vendors, advertising agencies, SEO partners, and nonprofit marketing organizations

Strategic Growth & Ancillary Services

Support expansion and visibility of ancillary service lines including hospice, pharmacy, companion care, and therapy services
Identify partnership opportunities with healthcare providers, community agencies, and external organizations
Assist in developing strategic initiatives to increase market presence and referral volume
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and referral patterns to guide growth decisions
Participate in leadership planning related to growth, budgeting, and operational strategy

Leadership & Team Development

Lead and mentor admissions and outreach personnel
Create accountability systems, workflows, and performance expectations for admissions and marketing teams
Promote a positive, collaborative, and service-oriented culture
Balance growth expectations with sustainable team operations to avoid burnout and support long-term retention
Recognize team achievements and encourage organizational engagement and morale

Reporting & Executive Communication

Prepare census reports, referral analyses, ROI summaries, and strategic updates for executive leadership and board meetings
Present concise, data-driven recommendations and operational updates
Maintain accurate tracking systems for outreach activity, admissions outcomes, and referral source performance

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, marketing, communications, business, or related field preferred
Experience in healthcare admissions, senior care, hospice, skilled nursing, home care, or healthcare marketing strongly preferred
Strong understanding of post-acute care operations and referral development
Excellent relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills
Ability to analyze data and translate findings into actionable growth strategies
Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Experience coordinating events, outreach initiatives, and community partnerships
Proficiency with healthcare systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office platforms
Self-starter with strong leadership presence and accountability for results

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
