Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, technical, and results-driven Director of Business Development & Marketing to lead our commercial growth and brand strategy.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between deep science and strategic deal-making. You will leverage your background in antibody discovery to identify partnership opportunities, cultivate key industry relationships, and negotiate high-impact business transactions. As an early leader in a lean startup environment, you must be comfortable wearing multiple hats—moving seamlessly between high-level executive strategy, campaign execution, and hands-on team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Transactions
Lead end-to-end business development cycles, from prospect identification and scientific vetting to term sheet negotiation and deal closure.
Build and nurture strategic relationships with pharmaceutical, biotech, and academic partners.
Translate Precision Biotools' proprietary technologies into compelling commercial value propositions for prospective clients and collaborators.
Manage partner pipelines and represent the company at key industry conferences and partnering events.
Marketing & Brand Strategy
Design and execute cohesive marketing campaigns to position Precision Biotools as a leader in targeted antibody discovery.
Oversee corporate communications, website content, conference presence, and digital marketing initiatives.
Conduct market research and competitor analysis to guide commercial positioning and pricing strategies.
Startup Leadership & Collaboration
Act as a key cross-functional leader, collaborating closely with R&D, executive leadership, and operations to align commercial strategy with technical capabilities.
Roll up your sleeves to handle operational and tactical tasks as needed in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.
Mentor and lead cross-functional project teams as the organization expands.
Qualifications & Requirements
Technical Background: Master’s or Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biotechnology, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on industry experience). Deep, practical familiarity with antibody discovery workflows (e.g., hybridomas, B-cell cloning, display technologies, epitope targeting) is strictly required.
BD Experience: 5+ years of track record in business development, licensing, or commercial roles within the life sciences or biotech sector, with demonstrated success closing transactions.
Startup Agility: Demonstrated experience working in an early-stage startup or agile biotech setting, with a proven ability to wear multiple hats and lead initiative independently.
Communication: Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and scientific communication skills—capable of engaging effectively with C-suite executives, scientists, and investors.
