Director of Communications & Marketing

CHMS is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and experienced Director of Marketing & Communications to lead and grow our marketing function. Key Responsibilities • Lead the vision, goals, and annual work plan for the Marketing & Communications Department • Build, mentor, and supervise marketing staff • Establish workflows, standards, benchmarks, and reporting systems • Ensure consistent brand voice and messaging for CHMS and its association clients • Oversee digital marketing strategy, including social media, websites, email campaigns, and paid advertising • Review campaign performance and analytics to guide continuous improvement • Serve as a senior advisor to internal teams and clients on marketing and communications strategy • Support marketing efforts related to conferences, events, advocacy initiatives, and membership campaigns • Collaborate closely with executive leadership and internal departments Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field • 5+ years of progressive experience in marketing and communications • Demonstrated experience managing digital platforms, campaigns, and content strategy • Prior experience leading or mentoring staff • Strong understanding of social media, digital analytics, and content management systems • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite • Working knowledge of HTML and website content management systems • Excellent communication, organizational, and client relationship skills • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, client-service environment Work Environment • In-person in Albany, NY or Raleigh, NC • Occasional nights and weekends for events • Occasional travel for events Why Join CHMS • Opportunity to build and shape a marketing department • Work with a diverse portfolio of nonprofit association clients • Collaborative, mission-driven team environment • Leadership role with visibility and impact across the organization
