Job Title: Marketing & Communications Manager

Location: Estero, Florida
Salary Range: $65,000-$70,000
Position Summary
The Director of Marketing is responsible for leading SWFL Inc.'s marketing strategy, brand management, content development, lead generation, and communications efforts. This position develops and executes integrated marketing campaigns that drive membership growth, sponsorship revenue, event participation, investor engagement, and organizational visibility.
The Director of Marketing serves as a member of the leadership team and oversees one direct report while managing external marketing vendors, agencies, contractors, and creative partners. The ideal candidate is a strategic marketer with expertise in content marketing, inbound marketing, and sales-focused marketing initiatives that generate measurable business results.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Leadership
Develop and execute annual marketing and communications strategies aligned with organizational goals.Lead brand positioning, messaging, and market awareness initiatives.Collaborate with leadership to support membership growth, sponsorship sales, economic development initiatives, workforce programs, and event participation.Establish marketing goals, performance metrics, and reporting systems.Manage and mentor one direct report while fostering a high-performing marketing function.
Content & Inbound Marketing
Develop and oversee content marketing strategies that engage members, investors, sponsors, and community stakeholders.Create and manage editorial calendars across digital, print, email, website, and social media channels.Develop thought leadership content, success stories, economic development content, workforce initiatives, and organizational communications.Implement inbound marketing strategies that generate qualified leads and strengthen stakeholder engagement.Ensure messaging consistency across all communication channels.
Marketing for Sales & Revenue Growth
Partner with membership, sponsorship, and business development teams to create marketing campaigns that support revenue generation.Develop lead generation campaigns that support membership recruitment and investor development efforts.Create marketing assets, sales support materials, presentations, and promotional campaigns that assist sales and relationship-building activities.Track marketing contributions to membership growth, sponsorship revenue, event registrations, and investor engagement.
Communications & Brand Management
Oversee organizational communications, public relations, media outreach, and brand standards.Manage website content, email marketing, social media platforms, and digital advertising efforts.Ensure a consistent and professional brand presence across all organizational initiatives.Develop crisis communication strategies and reputation management plans when needed.
Vendor & Project Management
Manage relationships with external marketing agencies, graphic designers, videographers, photographers, website developers, and other marketing vendors.Oversee outsourced creative projects and ensure quality, timeliness, and budget compliance.Manage marketing budgets and vendor contracts.Coordinate production of marketing collateral, promotional materials, and digital assets.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, or related field.Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive marketing experience.Demonstrated experience in content marketing, inbound marketing, and marketing strategies that support sales and revenue growth.Experience managing marketing campaigns across multiple channels.Experience supervising staff and managing external vendors and agencies.Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.Experience with CRM platforms, email marketing systems, website management, analytics tools, and marketing automation platforms.Ability to analyze marketing performance data and translate insights into action.Experience supporting membership-based or relationship-driven organizations.Knowledge of lead generation, customer journey mapping, and stakeholder engagement strategies.
