Seashore Highlands Retirement Community, a ministry of Methodist Senior Services (MSS), is a faith-based, not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving older adults in the spirit of Christian love. The community offers a continuum of senior living options including Independent Living Villas, Assisted Living, Blended Memory Support Assisted Living, and one of Mississippi's Green House® Homes for memory support.
The Sales and Marketing Director leads the sales and marketing efforts for Seashore Highlands Retirement Community. This position builds relationships with prospective residents, families, referral partners, and the local community while helping older adults navigate one of life's most important decisions. The Sales and Marketing Director is responsible for driving occupancy growth through strategic sales efforts, community outreach, and referral source development in support of the mission and values of Methodist Senior Services.
Marketing support is provided by the MSS Home Office Sales and Marketing team in Tupelo, MS, which oversees graphic design, advertising placement, brand standards, marketing collateral, and management of the organization's social media channels. The Sales and Marketing Director partners with the home office by providing local content, photos, event information, and creative input that supports campus marketing initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a relationship-focused professional with strong sales instincts, exceptional communication skills, and a heart for serving older adults.
Responsibilities:
· Build and maintain relationships with prospective residents, their families, referral sources, healthcare professionals, and community partners to support occupancy growth.
· Serve as the primary contact for prospective residents by providing tours, pre-assessing needs, recommending appropriate living options, and guiding families through the move-in process.
· Develop and maintain a consistent schedule of outreach activities with hospitals, physicians, case managers, skilled nursing facilities, churches, and other referral partners.
· Work collaboratively with the Executive Director and Vice President of Sales and Marketing to evaluate census trends, identify occupancy opportunities, and implement strategies to achieve and maintain occupancy goals.
· Manage prospects throughout the customer journey by identifying their stage of readiness and planning appropriate follow-up, education, and next steps.
· Maintain accurate, timely documentation of all prospect interactions and sales activities within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
· Assist with annual competitive market analysis and maintain knowledge of local market conditions, competitor offerings, pricing, and industry trends.
· Plan and coordinate lead generation events, educational programs, open houses, and community engagement activities that support sales and marketing objectives.
· Serve as the primary campus contact for marketing initiatives by providing regular content, photos, resident stories, and event information for the campus's social media channels; coordinating lead generation and community engagement events; and identifying local public relations opportunities.
· Collaborate with the MSS Sales and Marketing team by providing local market insight for advertising placement, creative ideas for marketing collateral, and public relations. Graphic design, advertising placement, and production of marketing collateral are coordinated through the home office marketing team.
· Represent Methodist Senior Services professionally throughout the community while promoting the organization's mission, values, and services.
Skills/Requirements:
This is a performance-based position where success is measured by relationship development, sales performance, occupancy growth, and achievement of established sales goals.One or more years of successful sales experience is preferred, ideally in senior living, healthcare, real estate, property leasing, or another consultative sales environment.Demonstrated ability to build trust, establish lasting relationships, and guide customers through complex purchasing decisions.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software.Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.Professional judgment, initiative, creativity, and integrity.Shift/hours: Business hours with flexibility for occasional evenings and weekends to accommodate prospective residents, families, community events, and outreach opportunities.
