Director or Sales & Marketing

Garden at The Line & The Line Kitchens Sacramento, California

About Us

The Garden at The Line and The Line Kitchens are Sacramento's premier outdoor food and beverage destination — a curated collection of local kitchens and craft beverages in a vibrant social setting.

With a 357-person capacity outdoor venue, 11 independent kitchens, craft bar, live music, and a high potential private events business, we are building something Sacramento has never seen. We're in a high-growth phase and looking for a driven sales leader to own our revenue growth across events, kitchen leasing, and marketing.

The Role

This is a Director-level sales and marketing leadership position reporting directly to the Owner/Integrator. You will own three revenue-generating functions: private and corporate event sales, kitchen tenant leasing, and marketing strategy and execution. You will manage an outsourced marketing agency and be accountable for their output and ROI. This is a 100% sales and marketing seat — there are no bartending shifts, no event setup duties, no operational responsibilities. Your job is to fill the calendar, fill the kitchens, and fill the venue.

Core Responsibilities

Event Sales (Primary)

Own the events revenue target: $35K/month within 6 months, $40K+ by month 12
Proactively prospect, pitch, and close corporate events, private parties, community bookings, and milestone celebrations through outbound outreach and inbound lead management
Maintain a qualified events pipeline worth 2X the monthly revenue target at all times
Develop, refine, and sell tiered event packages with clear pricing, menu options, and add-ons that make it easy for buyers to say yes
Manage all event contracts, deposits, and post-event follow-up to drive repeat bookings
Build and maintain an events CRM with weekly reporting on pipeline value, conversion rates, and confirmed revenue

Kitchen Leasing & Tenant Success

Own kitchen occupancy targets: fill vacant kitchens and maintain 11/11 occupancy with a waitlist
Build and work a target list of Sacramento's best food concepts — food trucks, delivery- only operators, chefs seeking their first location
Recruit, activate, and manage a network of young commercial brokers at 20% first-year rent commission
Own the full leasing cycle from prospecting through signed deal, then hand off to Kitchen Operations for contract execution, onboarding, and ongoing tenant management
Post-signing, continue to support kitchen tenants through shared marketing campaigns, social media promotion, and business development initiatives that drive customer traffic to the kitchens
Track and report leasing pipeline weekly: leads, tours, proposals, leases signed

Marketing Leadership

Own the $6,000—$8,000/month marketing budget and manage the outsourced marketing agency — you are accountable for their output, timelines, and ROI
Direct all marketing strategy: campaigns, content calendar, social media, email/SMS, paid advertising, and partnerships
Activate customer data from Toast, Socivor, and Triple Seat to build segmented campaigns that drive repeat visits and fill slow periods
Ensure brand consistency across all channels and public-facing content
Report weekly on marketing KPIs: customer acquisition cost, campaign ROI, traffic driven, and revenue attributed to marketing spend
Develop targeted campaigns for underperforming periods (Mon-Wed, lunch, winter months) and coordinate with kitchen tenants on food-driven promotions

Sacramento market knowledge or the ability to build a local network fast
Comfortable in a fast-paced, turnaround environment where you're building systems from scratch

Experience in food and beverage, venue management, or hospitality sales
