Absolutely. For an advanced college student with real work experience, I’d use a title that sounds like a genuine early-career opportunity—not an internship. I’d recommend Entertainment & Retail Development Associate. It is broad enough to attract strong candidates while signaling entertainment, brands, retail, and business development.

Turn Entertainment Brands Into Retail Opportunities
Are you fascinated by entertainment, brands, retail, and the business behind bringing great products to market?
Marketing Immersion is looking for an ambitious, outgoing and highly motivated Entertainment & Retail Development Associate to join our team.
This is not a typical entry-level position. You’ll gain hands-on experience working at the intersection of entertainment, brand development, licensing, retail and sales—helping identify opportunities, develop relationships and turn great brands and products into real business.
You’ll work directly with senior leadership and gain exposure to entertainment properties, manufacturers, retailers and business partners while learning how deals are developed from the ground up.
What You’ll Do
As an Entertainment & Retail Development Associate, you will help drive new business and retail opportunities across multiple brands and product categories. Responsibilities include:
* Research and identify prospective retailers, buyers, manufacturers, licensees and strategic partners. * Develop sales leads and help move opportunities from initial contact through meetings, presentations and follow-up. * Conduct outreach to retail buyers and prospective business partners by email, phone, LinkedIn and other channels. * Assist with retail development strategies for entertainment properties, consumer brands and products. * Research emerging entertainment, consumer and retail trends and identify potential opportunities. * Help prepare sales presentations, pitch decks, proposals and retailer-specific materials. * Maintain prospect lists, CRM information, follow-up schedules and sales pipelines. * Participate in meetings with clients, retailers, manufacturers and entertainment partners. * Support licensing and brand-development initiatives, including researching potential categories and partners. * Assist with trade shows, retailer meetings, industry events and new-business presentations. * Help develop creative ideas for expanding brands into new products, categories, retailers and distribution channels.
Who We’re Looking For
You may still be finishing college—but you’re already thinking like a professional.
The ideal candidate is an advanced college student, recent graduate or early-career professional with approximately two years of work experience who wants to build a career in entertainment, licensing, retail, sales, marketing or brand development.
You are:
* Confident, personable and comfortable talking with new people. * A strong communicator who can write a great email and make a professional phone call. * Naturally curious and willing to research until you find the right person or opportunity. * Persistent without being pushy. * Organized and able to manage multiple projects and follow-ups. * Creative, resourceful and comfortable contributing ideas. * Interested in entertainment, pop culture, consumer brands and retail. * Comfortable using LinkedIn, Microsoft Office/Excel/PowerPoint or Google Workspace. * Excited by sales and motivated by seeing an opportunity turn into a deal. * A self-starter who doesn’t need every step mapped out before getting started.
Preferred Background
We’d especially like to meet candidates studying or recently graduating in Marketing, Business, Communications, Advertising, Entertainment, Retail, Merchandising, Entrepreneurship or a related field.
Approximately two years of professional work experience is preferred. Experience does not need to come from a corporate environment—we value candidates who have demonstrated initiative, responsibility, communication skills and a strong work ethic.
Why This Opportunity Is Different
At a large company, an entry-level employee may work on one small piece of one project.
At Marketing Immersion, you’ll see how the entire business comes together.
You’ll learn how entertainment properties become consumer brands, how products get in front of major retailers, how licensing relationships are developed, how buyers make decisions, and how sales opportunities move from an idea to a real business relationship.
Most importantly, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute—not just observe.
