Entry-level paid proofreading internship -- freelance, remote

If you would like to eventually become a copy editor (particularly in advertising/marketing), this internship will provide training and real-world experience to get your career started. Candidates must pass a proofreading test and sign a Nondisclosure Agreement prior to any paid work. REQUIRED SKILLS \\- Excellent spelling and grammar in English \\- Working knowledge of, and access to, Acrobat Reader software: at minimum, you must already know how to use the comment tool and how to open the thumbnails pane \\- Working knowledge of Google Drive for exchanging files \\- Bachelor’s degree—either completed or on track to complete within the next few years (please provide details) BONUS SKILLS \\- Familiarity with style sheets and/or style manuals, especially Chicago Manual of Style \\- MS Office, especially MS Word and/or Excel \\- Interest and experience in science or medical topics DUTIES \\- Proofreading marketing communications for healthcare/pharmaceutical brands, typically short-form text in layout (e.g., magazine advertisements, web pages, storyboards) \\- Marking up edits using Acrobat Reader and/or track changes in MS Word \\- Your first project will be a side-by-side comparison of 2 pieces, looking for anything that may have been accidentally deleted or changed from one version to the next. Time estimate: 2-4 hours.
