The position reports directly to the Board of Directors. This is a full-time, exempt position. Major Responsibilities: 1\\. Organization Mission and Strategy: Work with board and staff to ensure the mission is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning, and community outreach ● Responsible for implementation of KCAVP’s mission-driven programs ● Responsible for strategic planning to guide fulfillment of KCAVP's mission into the future ● Responsible for the enhancement of KCAVP’s image through community involvement and close partnerships with other professional, civic, and private organizations ● Promote an organizational culture that fosters cooperation, open and frequent communication, teamwork, a common organizational vision, and passion for KCAVP'S mission ● Develop and implement appropriate human resource policies and procedures 4\\. Additional Duties ● Facilitate meetings and training that discuss enhancing services to LGBTQ survivors ● Other duties as assigned Qualifications: ● Master's degree preferred (experience may be substituted for education) ● Two years senior management experience as an executive director, manager, chief financial officer, public relations director, development director, program director, or equivalent experience required ● Three to five years leadership experience required ● Proficiency required in Windows based programs (Microsoft Office), financial management programs (QuickBooks) and online databases (Salesforce) ● Strategic planning and implementation experience ● Successful fundraising experience required ● Strong written and verbal communication skills (demonstrated public/media relations experience is preferred) ● Strong leadership, organizational, and supervision skills ● Solid understanding of and empathy for LGBTQ needs and issues involving domestic violence, sexual assault, and hate crimes (demonstrated advocacy for the LGBTQ community is preferred) ● Experience working in a domestic violence program or sexual assault agency is desired ● Ability to work across all ethnic, racial, cultural, and socioeconomic demographics ● Job requires some inter-city, weekend, or overnight travel
