External Communications Coordinator

**Position Summary:** Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Communications Coordinator is responsible for media relations, media monitoring, touch and impact reports and reporter/outlet monitoring. The Communications Coordinator manages the university's media monitoring software, serves as the liaison with the contracted company, and provides support for communicators across the university to effectively communicate with external media audiences. The Communications Coordinator serves as the lead university editor, providing writing, proofreading and editing assistance to University Communications and Marketing (UCM) team members and writes a variety of content including, but not limited to, feature stories, news releases and web content. * Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations or a related field and three years of communications experience or a combination of education and related experience totaling 7 years. * Experience working in or with media outlets.
