EmPower Family Wellness Center is seeking a creative, dependable Marketing & Communications Assistant to help expand our community presence and communicate our mission through compelling digital content. This opportunity is ideal for a communications, marketing, journalism, or graphic design student or recent graduate looking to build a nonprofit portfolio while contributing to meaningful community work. Create and publish a minimum of two social media posts per week across EmPower's communication platforms.Develop original content that promotes EmPower's mission, programs, educational resources, and community engagement.Create promotional content for upcoming events and deliver polished written recaps following completed events.Design and prepare a monthly email newsletter for distribution to subscribers.Edit photos and video footage from completed events into engaging digital content for social media, newsletters, and other organizational communications.Research and cite credible sources when creating educational or informational content.Produce all content in alignment with EmPower's established brand standards, organizational voice, and communication guidelines, utilizing organizational templates and approved marketing materials as appropriate. Graphic design experience is required, including proficiency with Canva or a comparable graphic design platform.Experience creating engaging content for social media.Basic photo and video editing skills.Strong written communication skills.Ability to meet deadlines and manage work independently.Reliable internet access and access to a personal computer.Interest in community engagement, nonprofit work, or family wellness is preferred. We're looking for someone who communicates authentically, understands current social media best practices, and can bring fresh, creative ideas to our content while staying true to EmPower's brand.
