Overview

The Marketing Communications Manager plays a key role in shaping how our brand connects with customers, employees, and partners. This role is responsible for developing clear, compelling, and onbrand messaging across multiple channelsensuring our story is consistent, engaging, and easy to understand.

As a strategic communicator and brand steward, you'll translate complex ideas into customerfriendly language and partner closely with teams across marketing, customer experience, and internal stakeholders. You'll support affinity marketing programs, internal initiatives, and customer lifecycle communications that reinforce our organization's STAR Promise and elevate the overall customer experience. This role also upholds communication standards and marketing infrastructure to enable accurate, scalable execution across campaigns and platforms. The ideal candidate is a strong collaborator, thoughtful storyteller, and detailoriented marketer who thrives in a crossfunctional environment and is passionate about building meaningful connections through communication.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Marketing Communications & Content Creation:

Develops and manages original, onbrand content across multiple channels, including email campaigns and automated journeys, newsletters, blogs, social media, website content, chat and IVR messaging, and quarterly content calendars.

Serves as the primary marketing contact and brand steward for internal departments requesting assistance with messaging and creative development, copywriting/editing, content review and approval, and project coordination. Translates complex insurance, operational, and policy concepts into clear, accurate, and customerfriendly messaging.

Ensures consistency in tone, voice, and messaging across all channels and audiences (both internally and externally), serving as a steward of the brand voice.

Proactively identifies content needs and opportunities aligned with campaigns, seasonality, customer lifecycle, and enterprise priorities.

Collaborates closely with Marketing, designers, copywriters, and external vendors to execute creative strategies and assets.

Affinity Partner Marketing:

Executes marketing communications in support of affinity partners and endorsed groups, balancing organizational goals with partner expectations.

Develops and executes partner focused communications, including co branded emails, newsletters, website content, event communications, and campaign materials.

Manages partner content schedules, channel placement, and creative workflows from draft through final execution.

Coordinates with internal stakeholders, external partners, and vendors to ensure accurate brand representation and timely delivery.

Oversees partner related logistics & tracking, including timelines, deliverables, billing reconciliation, and documentation.

Ensures all partner communications are professional, compliant, brand aligned, and relationship supportive.

Brand & Communications Strategy & Leadership:

Acts as the primary marketing point of contact across the organization, ensuring enterprise initiatives are supported with clear, consistent, and high quality communications.

Represents Marketing on cross functional committees and enterprise initiatives related to communications, customer experience, and brand.

Serves as the primary marketing and brand resource, and authority for internal teams requesting messaging, copywriting, content review, or project support.

Partners with IT, Digital, and the Digital Experience Manager to maintain consistency across platforms and digital properties.

Provides brand and messaging review for executive level and enterprise communications.

Defines enterprise communication standards, messaging frameworks, and messaging effectiveness indicators to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment across organizational communications.

Communication Optimization:

Evaluates the effectiveness of marketing communications to inform optimization, prioritization, and strategic decision making.

Interprets feedback, interactions and results to assess message clarity, channel effectiveness, and audience response. Applies insights to refine messaging, cadence, channel mix, and communication frameworks.

Supports the technical and structural business, marketing, and systems functions required for accurate execution and reporting

Shares findings and recommendations with stakeholders to support continuous improvement.

Other duties as required: Job may require fulfilling other incidental or related duties as assigned, assisting and training others, and performing duties of higher rated positions from time to time for developmental purposes.

Qualifications

Education:

Preferred: BA/BS Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.

Business Experience:

8+ Years Marketing communications, content strategy, corporate communications, or related marketing experience. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute marketing communications across multiple channels, including email, direct mail, publications, social media, website/digital content, and other customer engagement channels.

Industry Experience:

Some Insurance industry experience or another regulated industry such as financial services, healthcare, or government.

Experience supporting affinity group partnerships or partner-branded marketing initiatives, including co-branded communications and coordinated campaigns.

Skills & Knowledge:

Written Communication: Exceptional writing, editing, and messaging skills, with the ability to translate complex or technical information into clear, engaging, audience-appropriate communications.

Organization, Multi-Tasking, and Flexibility: Organized and proactive in managing timelines, approvals, revisions, and deliverables across multiple projects simultaneously. Able to make refinements based on feedback, evolving business priorities, and emerging insights.

The pay range for this position is $85,384 - $132,350 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience. The company also offers a full range of medical, financial and other benefits, including eligibility for the company's performance sharing plan and paid time off such as holidays, vacation, sick and personal holidays.
