Internship Overview

Internship Details:

Location: Oklahoma City, OK (in-person required)

Timeframe: May- August 20, 2026

Compensation: $15.00 per hour Paid internship (details provided during interview)

Hours: 6-7-hour workday (4 days a week) The exact days of the week are determined by the associations' event project schedules. Will be flexible with August scheduling to accommodate school commitments.

About the Internship:

The Oklahoma Restaurant Association (ORA) is seeking a dynamic, creative, and detail-oriented intern to join our Marketing & Events Department for the summer. This is a unique opportunity for a student interested in gaining hands-on experience in event marketing, graphic design, and strategic planning for large-scale industry events.

As an intern, you’ll work closely with the Chief Strategy Officer and a collaborative team of marketing, communications, and events professionals, contributing to the success of three major events:

A foundation fundraiser

A pretigious imdustry simmer amd award program

An major trade show

These events are critical to the success and visibility of Oklahoma’s vibrant restaurant, tourism and hospitality industry, and your efforts will directly support that mission.

What You’ll Learn and Do:

Gain practical experience in event marketing strategy and design

Assist in creating marketing materials, digital content, and communications for event promotion

Support the planning and execution of event logistics and attendee engagement

Participate in brainstorming sessions and campaign planning

Learn how to work with event partners

Contribute to the development and maintenance of event timelines and marketing calendars

Support on-site event execution and learn the behind-the-scenes mechanics of large events

Who We’re Looking For:

A current college student pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, event management, or a related field - emphasis on marketing skills

Someone with a strong willingness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment

A team player who can work alongside others while proactively managing individual responsibilities

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Basic knowledge of design tools (Microsoft Excel, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Social Media) is a plus

Someone who thrives on meeting deadlines, solving problems, and being part of a mission-driven team
