Marketing Firm Controller/HR Generalist

OverviewThe Finance/HR Generalist will handle all day to day finance, accounting and human resources tasks for Sasquatch Agency.  

Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage all accounting functions including: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, client billing, general ledger, etc.Administer payroll system including bi-weekly processing, GL recordkeeping, payroll tax monitoring, quarterly reconciliation of payroll tax returns, year-end income inclusions and workers compensation auditManage all banking activitiesEnsure balance sheet integrity with monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts including analysis and adjusting entriesMaintain appropriate financial controls and procedures to ensure accuracy of financial information and systemsAnalyze, forecast and maintain cash flow to adequately meet the Agency’s obligationsGenerate and provide reports to company’s CPA firm as needed including annual year-end tax prep & documentationGenerate and file annual 1099’sTrack asset purchases & inventory. File Multnomah County property tax return.Provide timely reports, including monthly operating budget, aged payables/receivables and cash flow forecasting to the firm’s ownershipEvaluate and maintain agency benefits portfolio, such as health and dental insurance, long- and short-term disability insurance, 401K program, etc.Employee onboarding and offboardingMaintain employee personnel files and applicationsManage all clerical duties related to the accounting departmentAny and all other duties assigned by the supervisorQualificationsSkillsStrong organizational and clerical skillsComplete understanding of and experience in full-service organizational accountingStrong spreadsheet and basic computer skillsUnderstanding and experience with accounting-specific software systemsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to meet deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Related Field or equivalent experiencePrevious advertising or marketing agency experience strongly preferredAdvantage & QuickBooks accounting software experience strongly preferredInformationSasquatch Agency is a Portland-based 25-person marketing services firm.  We are a creative, fast-paced business where all employees from the most senior to the most junior wear multiple hats and are willing to pitch in and engage in tasks outside their primary job functions.
