Lamar Advertising Company is looking for a dedicated Outdoor Advertising Billboard Technician to join our dynamic team! In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for building, installing, and maintaining eye-catching outdoor advertising structures that support high-visibility campaigns. Your work will take you outdoors, where you will handle vinyl installations, hardware, and lighting while strictly adhering to OSHA and company safety standards.
As part of our field crew, you will operate trucks, lifts, and various tools to ensure timely completion of work orders while maintaining the highest quality standards. You will collaborate closely with local operations and sales teams to ensure that our displays are safe, accurate, and visually impactful, strengthening our long-term customer relationships and community presence.
Key Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and remove billboard structures and vinyl advertisements according to work orders and safety standards.Operate trucks, lifts, and hand/power tools to access and service billboard faces and structures.Inspect structures, hardware, and lighting; promptly report and repair any damage or safety issues.Follow all OSHA, company, and DOT safety protocols, ensuring compliance with the use of fall protection and PPE.Read layouts, measurements, and digital work orders to ensure accurate ad placement and quality of installations.Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, at heights, and on uneven terrain as part of a dedicated field crew.Effectively communicate with supervisors, sales, and operations to complete jobs on schedule.Maintain clean and organized work sites, vehicles, tools, and an inventory of installation materials.Document completed work with photos and reports using mobile or tablet-based systems.Support special projects, emergency repairs, and night or weekend installs as required.Required Skills
Experience with billboard or outdoor sign installation.Ability to work safely at heights with fall protection equipment.Proficient in using hand and power tools.Experience operating bucket trucks, lifts, or similar equipment.Basic skills in construction, rigging, and hardware usage.Ability to read layouts, measurements, and site diagrams accurately.Willingness to perform outdoor field work in varied weather conditions.Knowledge of vehicle and equipment safety and inspection protocols.Experience with digital photo documentation and mobile work order systems.Basic knowledge of electrical or lighting maintenance.
