Part-time Administrative Sales Executive

Job Title: Part-time Administrative Sales Executive About Spectator: Spectator Publishing Co. is an independent, student-run company that publishes print and digital news and information products covering and serving the Columbia University community. Spectator Publishing Co. also has a board of alumni trustees that help provide oversight and continuity. The role includes responsibility for customer satisfaction post-sale, including the orchestration of delivery. The ideal candidate must believe in Spectator’s mission serving the Columbia and Morningside Heights community with a print circulation of 4,000 and 150,000 average monthly readers. Responsibilities \\- Work directly with Publisher, professional accountant, and Revenue Director to \\- Sell Spectator’s inventory of print and digital ads, as well as our our flyering, sponsored content, social media services, and other direct-to-consumer services and events \\- Engage potential advertisers (ad agencies, national and local advertisers) \\- Maintain relationships with existing clients \\- Determine which clients and industries would be best to reach out to \\- Help ensure client satisfaction by ensuring delivery of service and communicate results \\- Coordinate weekly print ads with layout team \\- Organize print deliveries to local drop-off locations and subscribers \\- Coordinate with printing company about delivery and specifics of weekly print editions Minimum qualifications: ● 2+ years sales experience at a nonprofit or corporation ● Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited University or Institution ● Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) ● Proficiency in Google Products (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Analytics, Ads Manager) ● Strong communications skills ● Strong work ethic, integrity, and self-motivation ● Must be authorized to work in the United States Spectator Publishing Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of an individual's sex, age, race, color, creed, national origin, alienage, religion, marital status, pregnancy, sexual orientation or affectional preference, gender identity and expression, disability, genetic trait or predisposition, carrier status, citizenship, veteran or military status and other personal characteristics protected by law.
