Part-Time Gallery Associate

Studio Tashtego is hiring for a weekends-only (Saturday-Sunday) part-time Gallery Associate for the Summer/Fall Season. The Gallery Associate will be responsible for tending to visitors in our gallery in Cold Spring on weekends. The ideal candidate possesses: -Excellent verbal and written communication skills -Knowledge of and passionate about Contemporary Art and the Decorative Arts, preferred but not required -Previous administrative experience, preferably in an arts environment, preferred but not required -Ability to work independently, with a positive / friendly attitude and a professional demeanor -Punctual, responsible, and detail-oriented -Knowledge of Photoshop a plus Responsibilities include but are not limited to: -Answer phones and greet visitors; able to speak about the works and artists on display with confidence and interest -Keep the gallery and office organized, supplied, and clean -Provide information and pricing to clients upon request. Handle sales inquiries as necessary -Draft invoices and estimates -Facilitate client viewings and visits as necessary -Communications assistance, including assisting with email marketing, social media, photoshoots, advertising and listings, etc -Update the gallery’s mailing list -Provide overall administrative support and assist Gallery Director
