Principal Communications Manager

Intuit New York, New York $199,000–$269,000 a year

Intuit's QuickBooks team is looking for a Principal Communications Manager to lead, shape, and execute high-visibility earned and owned communications strategies across Intuit Intelligence for our flagship QuickBooks products. This is a high-impact, hands-on storytelling role at the absolute center of Intuit's transformation as an AI-driven expert platform, directly shaping how millions of small businesses and entrepreneurs succeed globally. You will partner closely with senior executives and Product Marketing, translating complex product breakthroughs into compelling narratives that land with top-tier US media and resonate across our customer base.

The right person for this role is a strong, independent operator who can take a complex product story (AI-powered features, platform expansion, major launches) and turn it into something a reporter at a major outlet wants to write about, without needing a lot of hand-holding to get there.

**Responsibilities**

In this role, you will lead high-profile communications initiatives aligned with QuickBooks' broader business objectives, leveraging an expert command of media relations tools, tactics, and benchmarks. You'll bring deep business acumen to anticipate stakeholder reactions, navigate fast-moving product launches, lead proactive issues management, and partner with our PR agency to champion innovative, compelling storytelling.

You will lead the creation and placement of compelling stories across top-tier US media outlets, building and nurturing strong relationships with press and key external partners. This includes securing feature stories and launch exclusives while positioning Intuit's AI capabilities and Intuit Intelligence in a clear, differentiated, and credible way. Grounding every narrative in real small business impact, you'll drive integrated messaging and champion the cross-brand platform narrative that connects QuickBooks to Intuit's broader ecosystem (including Mailchimp, Credit Karma, and TurboTax) to keep our overall narrative consistent across all channels and business units.

Additionally, you will incorporate generative AI tools and modern workflows to streamline storytelling and media relations, mentoring colleagues on best practices. You'll experiment with emerging communication channels and formats to reach target audiences, measuring outcomes and sharing key insights across the team.

You will take a data-informed approach to media analysis, continuously measuring and refining coverage strategy, share of voice, message pull-through, and key performance metrics based on detailed analytics and press feedback—all within an award-winning PR culture recognized as a top place to work, focused on delivering high-impact, expert strategic communications across the organization.

**Qualifications**

* Experience & Media Relations: 12 + years of PR and media relations experience with established top-tier US media relationships in tech, business, and fintech, combining agency leadership and in-house enterprise/tech backgrounds.
* Strategic Ecosystem & Cross-Functional Partnership: Proven ability to partner with senior leaders and cross-functional teams (Product, Marketing, Legal) to drive high-impact narratives connecting QuickBooks to Intuit's broader ecosystem (Mailchimp, Credit Karma, TurboTax).
* Integrated Storytelling & Execution: Expertise in multi-channel, 360-degree campaigns (spanning PR, internal comms, social, and executive thought leadership), translating complex tech narratives into clear, compelling copy while leveraging modern AI tools and data analytics frameworks.
* Global, Issues & Operational Resilience: Experience collaborating with international teams across multiple time zones, leading proactive issues management and reputational risk mitigation, and applying data-informed performance metrics to continuous media strategy refinement.
