POSITION TITLE: Program Communications Specialist RESPONSIBLE TO: Education and Programs Director HOURS PER WEEK: Full-time (40 hours/week) CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt SALARY: $24.04-$25.00/hour depending on experience BENEFITS: Eligible for select FFLC-sponsored benefits at a pro-rated rate where applicable (e.g., paid time off benefits such as holidays, floating days, vacation and sick). *Instructions on How to Apply at bottom of Job Description SUMMARY OF POSITION: The PEAS Communications Coordinator plans, executes and evaluates multi-channel campaigns that help promote awareness of FFLC’s service programs to external audiences for the purpose of increasing participation in FFLC services and mission. This position reports to the Education and Programs Director while working closely with the Programs and Services Director, all Programs, Education & Services (PEAS) program managers and the Development Department. PRIMARY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES: \\- Works collaboratively, collegially and productively across departments, especially with the PEAS and Development teams to deliver successful projects \\- Works closely with the Development Director, PEAS Directors, and Executive Director to define communication priorities, strategies, goals and objectives Creates and executes PEAS-focused campaigns/plans to accomplish identified goals and objectives \\- Measures and reports on communication efforts and outcomes on a regular basis (monthly and annually) \\- Assists PEAS Directors in consolidating and sharing out program impact data and program information \\- Writes copy/content for publication tailored to target audiences and channel (print, email, website, social media, mass media, video) \\- Assists PEAS staff members in creating and developing program-focused assets, including advertising tools such as video, radio ads, brochures and fliers \\- Monitors program-specific webpages for accuracy and works through website administrator to ensure edits/updates/corrections are made in a timely manner ADMINISTRATIVE AND OTHER TASKS: \\- Attends meetings if/as essential to move projects forward \\- Treats all co-workers, volunteers, and donors with dignity and respect and strives to promote and enhance diversity, equity and inclusion \\- Contributes to the enhancement of diversity, equity and inclusion and exemplifies the organizational values of compassion, inclusion and collaboration SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: \\- Passion for the mission of FOOD For Lane County \\- Minimum of two (2) years professional experience in a communications role. \\- Ability to comprehend complex communications strategies, goals, and objectives, identify target audiences, and implement action plans to accomplish goals \\- Experience using web design software or content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress, Squarespace or similar social media management systems/tools, standard office software, and other electronic communications media \\- Demonstrated ability to write creatively, persuasively and edit for appropriate style, grammar, spelling, and punctuation \\- Excellent time-management, prioritization, organization and planning skills \\- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing environments while maintaining focus on end-goals and making progress towards them in a timely manner \\- Proven ability to work collaboratively, collegially and productively across departments and within the Development team to deliver successful projects \\- Proven ability to listen to a client or colleague’s needs and challenges, and translate those into communications solutions \\- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience, especially in the area of writing, communications, journalism or related field \\- Proven experience helping to promote and enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion with individuals from diverse or under-represented backgrounds \\- Ability to work in an open office environment with noise and interruptions \\- Ability to access service sites in Lane County that may not be serviced by public transportation is optional, but preferred (e.g., use of car) \\- Bilingual Spanish/English (Preferred but not required) \\- Safe driving record, valid Oregon driver’s license, current vehicle insurance and ability to use personal vehicle for FFLC business, and qualify for insurance coverage with FOOD For Lane County’s carriers (Preferred but optional) \\- All offers for employment are contingent on a satisfactory background check How to Apply: Please visit FFLC's website to submit all application materials electronically.
