Related work as required. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Preferred: 10 years related experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Knowledge of currently accepted concepts and practices of public relations and marketing • Knowledge of the communities served by BREC • Knowledge of local working media representation • Knowledge of current and accepted management concepts and practices • Excellent administrative and organizational skills • Good math skills and ability to perform basic accounting/budgeting functions • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Skill in the using a computer, and standard office software which includes MS Office, databases and presentation programs • Ability to quickly learn BREC policies, procedures, and department programs • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing • Ability to maintain effective working relations with departmental staff, representatives of public and private interest groups, news media, the public and officials of other agencies Essential Functions: • Responsible for the creation and implementation of marketing plans • Responsible for the updating and daily maintenance of the BREC website • Maintains current list of upcoming events; provides to numerous media sources according to established schedule. He or she will be required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties as requested by his or her supervisor.
