You'll be independent, but will also be networked with several other interns (across the country) that are doing similar work with the consultant--so you can also collaborate on similar projects. Prefer a responsible Junior-Senior in college working on a business degree (marketing, PR, business major preferred since this will be applicable experience, or an MBA candidate that wants real experience (but must be very teachable (will learn a LOT of new concepts fast--and then execute). Work at office or at home, your dorm or even on campus, depending on the tasks. Not a lot of money, but the real marketing experience is priceless.
