Restaurant Manager

A new restaurant is coming to Capitola. We are looking for an energetic and experienced restaurant manager to help open and lead our restaurant to deliver a high-quality menu and motivate staff to provide excellent customer service. To be successful in this role, the Restaurant Manager must have management skills and experience in both front and back of the house operation. Responsibilities include overseeing dining area, interacting with customers, balancing seating capacity, setting work schedules, and ordering supplies. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: • Coordinate daily restaurant operations • Deliver superior service and maximize customer satisfaction • Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints • Train new and current employees on proper customer service practices and procedures • Create staff schedules to ensure appropriate staffing • Supervise shifts, track employee hours, and record payroll and other data • Create and implement policies and procedures and ensure staff compliance • Set priorities and delegate tasks • Evaluate staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity • Orders supplies and products while staying within budget; estimate future needs and research new vendors as needed • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations • Monitor operational costs and identify measures to reduce costs and eliminate waste • Create detailed reports on weekly, monthly, and annual revenues and expenses • Promote the restaurant in the community through word-of-mouth and events • Manage restaurant image and make recommendations for improvement • Recommend ways to enhance business through advertising, social media, and promotions REQUIREMENTS: Ability to: • Exercise strong leadership, motivational, and people skills • Remain organized and work efficiently • Manage operating costs in accordance with budget • Establish and maintain effective working relationships • Maintain accurate records and files • Work flexible schedule (e.g. days, nights, weekends, holidays) • Obtain and maintain food handler certification Knowledge of: • Food and beverage (e.g. wine), with the ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and wait staff • Various restaurant management software • General restaurant operations, including personnel management, food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation and health codes, and security • Budgetary methods and procedures Desirable: • Experience with a new restaurant opening Experience: Five years of experience as a Restaurant Manager or similar role, which includes fine dining and customer service.
