SAVE Thrift Store Retail Sales Associate Hours: 2-4 days 7 or 8 hour shifts 9-5 or 10-5 Rate: $16/hour Work Days: Mondays, every other Saturday, + 1-2 additional days Retail Associate Overview The S.A.V.E. Thrift Store retail associate serves customers, solicits merchandise, processes new merchandise, and promotes the Peninsula Hawks Scholarship Fund program to generate scholarships for Peninsula High School graduating seniors. The sales associates manages volunteers of all ages and abilities, can delegate tasks, has excellent customer service, is able to quickly reprioritize based on the need, is flexible to change, and has the ability to lift 50lbs Retail Associate Job Duties • Identify customer needs by establishing rapport with potential and returning customers. • Ensure availability of merchandise and services by soliciting donations and maintaining inventories. Has the ability to lift as much as 50 pounds on an occasional basis (estimated 2-3 times per week) • Can bend over to clean, vacuum, set up displays and can lift one’s arms above shoulder height to hang and restock • Can climb a stepstool to restock items on the top shelves, etc.
