The Retail Specialist & Marketing Coordinator supports the mission of Orange Lutheran High School by overseeing the day-to-day operations and customer experience of the Lancer Supply Co. (school-operated retail store) while providing coordination and production support for the Marketing & Communications (MarCom) department. This position serves as the primary point of contact for the physical and online store, bringing retail knowledge and experience to inventory management, merchandising, product development, e-commerce, promotions, and customer service. The Retail Specialist & Marketing Coordinator also supports department-wide marketing initiatives through website updates, social media, print and digital production, content capture, project coordination, and other communication needs. Working collaboratively with the MarCom team and campus partners, this position requires strong organization, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic school environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Retail Operations & Experience
Serve as the primary point of contact for the store, overseeing day-to-day operations of the physical and online store and providing a welcoming, customer-focused experience for students, families, employees, alumni, and guests
Manage inventory levels, product rotation, restocking, and reorder recommendations to maintain an appropriate and relevant merchandise assortment
Coordinate merchandise purchasing and vendor relationships, ensuring products align with Orange Lutheran brand standards and retail goals
Maintain the online store, ensuring product information, availability, pricing, imagery, and overall customer experience remain accurate and current
Coordinate fulfillment, packaging, and delivery or pickup of online orders
Lead visual merchandising efforts, including product displays, seasonal resets, signage, and overall store presentation
Identify opportunities for new merchandise and product categories based on sales trends, customer interests, campus events, and seasonal needs
Develop and execute store promotions tied to school events, seasons, spirit initiatives, and other campus opportunities
Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to promote Lancer Supply Co merchandise through appropriate email, web, social media, and campus channels
Maintain accurate retail records and coordinate sales reporting, inventory, and financial reconciliation with the Business Office
Recommend improvements to the physical and online retail experience, including store layout, merchandising, packaging, checkout flow, and customer service
Coordinate and provide direction to student workers and others supporting Lancer Supply Co operations, as applicable
Must be available to work after-hours school events when needed
Marketing Coordination
Maintain assigned areas of Orange Lutheran's websites, ensuring content is accurate, current, and consistent with institutional brand and communication standards
Support social media publishing across main channels, including preparation and posting of approved content
Assist with the creation and preparation of basic digital and print materials using established templates and brand standards
Coordinate print-production needs, communicating with vendors, tracking timelines, and assisting with delivery and distribution
Assist with departmental project workflows, calendars, deadlines, and organizational systems that support the work of MarCom
Maintain and organize digital assets, templates, marketing materials, and other departmental resources
Identify outdated or inconsistent marketing materials and bring them forward for review
Provide marketing and communications support for campus departments, including website updates, social media content, event promotion, print and digital materials, and special projects as assigned
Assist with promotional support for select school events and initiatives in coordination with the MarCom team
Serve as a MarCom resource for campus partners, helping ensure requests and materials align with Orange Lutheran's brand and communication standards
Support digital platforms and media workflows as assigned and as departmental priorities require
Provide general coordination and production support for MarCom projects as assigned by the Director of Marketing & Communications
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Support campus-wide communication needs and special projects as requested by the Director of Marketing & Communications
Assist with mission-aligned storytelling across athletics, student life, and retail initiatives
All other duties as assigned

Education
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred
Experience
Two or more years of retail experience preferred, with demonstrated experience in merchandising, inventory management, customer service, e-commerce, or retail operations
Experience supporting marketing, communications, social media, digital content, or related functions preferred
Experience in a school, nonprofit, or mission-driven environment is preferred
KEY COMPETENCIES
Knowledge
Demonstrated knowledge of retail operations, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service practices
Understanding of e-commerce platforms and online retail operations (Square)
Sound visual judgment and an understanding of brand consistency
Familiarity with social media platforms and digital content practices
Comfort learning and working within website content-management systems, project-management platforms, and other digital tools (FinalSite, Asana, etc.)
Sound judgment and professionalism in customer interactions and public-facing communications

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Regularly moves throughout campus and the Lancer Supply Co to support operations, attend meetings, manage inventory, and coordinate marketing needs
Frequently operates a computer, printer, point-of-sale system, and other office and retail equipment
Occasionally lifts and moves merchandise, boxes, signage, and event materials up to 40 pounds
Must be able to set up and break down store displays and assist with event or promotional setups
Comfortable working in a retail environment that may require standing for prolonged periods
Capable of performing repetitive tasks associated with retail and office operations, including typing, scanning, folding, packaging, and fulfillment
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment includes a combination of office, retail, and campus settings
The position primarily works in climate-controlled indoor environments, with occasional outdoor work related to campus events and promotions
Noise levels are generally quiet to moderate but may occasionally be loud during school activities or events
