Overview:
Reports to: Marketing Vice President
Functions Supervised: None
Primary Functions: This is a key role, reporting and working closely with the Marketing Vice President to drive the adoption and growth of Alaska USA and it’s family of businesses, by creating differentiated go-to-market positioning, target messaging, and sharp sales support material to drive demand, awareness, and revenue growth.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops a deep understanding of our members and keeps a pulse on the competitive landscape to inform our go-to-market strategy
Acts as a product expert and champion both internally and externally, developing a deep understanding of market needs and trends, and how we should position the credit union and its family of businesses
Drives the development of compelling written and visual content, including marketing product roadmaps, and member facing collateral
Collaborates with the marketing team to develop campaigns that carry product messages to market (e.g., sales materials, advertising, digital media, branch merchandising, events, social media, and public relations)
Understands what aspects of the product messaging and positioning are effective "in the field" and uses this feedback to inform marketing priorities and adjust marketing collateral
Oversees the launch of new products and features by collaborating with business lines, CUSOs, and marketing
Maintains a thorough working knowledge of marketing and advertising compliance requirements for the credit union and individual business lines.
Acts as a Brand steward and supports the governance of Alaska USA's overarching Brand strategy.
Qualifications:
Education: BA in Marketing, Advertising, Business Administration, or related field.
Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education: 5+ years in similar position demonstrating excellent writing, editing and strong communication skills.
Experience/Skills: Five years marketing experience. Strong written and oral communication skills, strong strategic and organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, environment. Collaborative spirit with creative spark that can contribute to the ideation of campaigns and programs. Ability to effectively execute on marketing concepts and initiatives, while managing project priorities and timelines. Ability to engage and work with stakeholders across multiple functional business lines. Passionate about building and maintaining brand consistency. Proven track record in product marketing and innovation. Advance competency in researching market trends and consumer behavior.
Tenure: Marketing Officer II, Category 09, requires twelve months tenure in the Marketing Officer I position with performance that meets or exceeds expectations. Marketing Officer III, Category 08, requires twelve months tenure in the Marketing Officer II position with performance that meets or exceeds expectations. Senior Marketing Officer, Category 07, requires twelve months tenure in the Marketing Officer III position with performance that meets or exceeds expectations. Directly related work experience and/or accelerated training completion may be substituted for tenure.
