DSOTD Los Angeles, California $22 an hour

Part-Time Social Media & Content Assistant - Women's Basketball Media

I'm launching a new media outlet focused primarily on women's basketball, with some NBA coverage during the WNBA offseason, and I'm looking for someone to help me get the content side up and running.

This is a part-time, entry-level / early-career opportunity for someone who understands social media, short-form content, visual presentation, and how platforms like TikTok and Instagram work.

The role is very hands-on. I'm looking for someone who can help turn ideas into actual posts, assist with getting content published consistently, and bring practical social media knowledge to the table as the brand gets started.

You do not need to be a professional social media strategist or have years of experience. If you spend a lot of time on social platforms, understand what makes content look good, know how TikTok and Reels work, and are comfortable helping someone get content posted, I'd like to hear from you.

WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR:

-TikTok knowledge

-Instagram Reels

-Short-form video and social posts

-Basic video editing

-A good eye for visual presentation and aesthetics

-Understanding of how social media content should look and feel

-Comfort posting and organizing content across social platforms

-Ability to help turn ideas into finished posts

-General comfort with technology and learning new tools

-Reliability and a positive attitude

-Someone comfortable working collaboratively and helping build something from the beginning

You do not need to be an expert in everything above. This could be a great fit for someone early in their career, a student or recent graduate, or someone who has developed strong social media skills on their own.

ABOUT THE CONTENT:

The media outlet will focus heavily on women's basketball, including commentary, analysis, predictions, news, culture, and other content surrounding the game.

If you already follow women's basketball or women's sports, that is a big plus.

Basketball knowledge is helpful, but I'm also open to someone who has strong social media instincts and is interested in learning more about the sport.

LOCATION:

-Please live in or around West Hollywood / the Los Angeles area

-Please be available to work locally

HOURS & PAY:

-Approximately 2-4 hours per day to start

-$22/hour

-Part-time

-Potential for additional hours and responsibilities as the venture grows

-Looking to get started ASAP

WHAT MATTERS MOST:

I'm looking for someone who is reliable, easy to work with, creative, comfortable with social media, and genuinely interested in helping build a new media brand from the ground up.

This is not an agency or consulting position. I'm not looking for someone to come in and give me a high-level social media presentation.

I'm looking for someone who can work alongside me, share ideas, help with the practical side of creating and posting content, and help get the operation moving.

WHEN REPLYING, PLEASE INCLUDE:

-A brief introduction and background

-Your social media profiles

-Any examples of social media, video, editing, or content work you've done

-Resume, if you have one - not required

-Why this opportunity interests you

-Whether you follow basketball or women's sports

-Your general availability

Professional experience is a plus, but it is not required. I'm open to someone who is relatively new as long as you understand social platforms, have good instincts, are dependable, and are willing to learn.

If this sounds like a good fit, please reach out and tell me a little about yourself.
