Social Media & Digital Marketing Strategist

Join M&R Development the multidisciplinary development company behind The Downs in Scarborough as we continue building vibrant communities and expanding our portfolio across Maine. In this role, you’ll support an ecosystem of companies—including development, property management, home remodeling, commercial leasing, architectural design and community building —giving you the rare opportunity to shape storytelling across five different brands in highly visual industries. What You’ll Do • Lead day-to-day social media strategy, content planning, posting, and engagement across multiple brands within the M&R Development family • Develop platform-specific content that highlights new development milestones, residential offerings, commercial opportunities, events, community stories, and behind-the-scenes progress • Manage digital marketing initiatives including website updates, email campaigns, paid ads, SEO enhancements, and analytics reporting • Maintain brand consistency across all companies while tailoring messaging to each audience and platform • Capture on-site content—photos, short-form videos, reels, and stories—that authentically showcases our communities, events, construction progress, and lifestyles • Partner closely with internal teams and external vendors to support marketing goals and amplify cross-brand opportunities • Monitor performance metrics to guide ongoing improvements and bring forward new trends, tools, and AI-driven efficiencies Who You Are • Strong communicator and creative thinker with a pulse on social media trends and best practices • Digitally savvy with experience managing multi-brand content in fast-moving environments • Comfortable working on-site at active development projects and community events • Organized, proactive, and energized by collaboration • Passionate about brand-building, storytelling, and creating meaningful digital connections • Good eye for content opportunities and visual brand building Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications • 2–5 years of experience in social media, digital marketing, or a related field • Strong understanding of content strategy, digital trends, platform analytics, and brand voice development • Experience managing multiple brands or business lines simultaneously • Ability to create engaging short-form content and write compelling captions and messaging • Familiarity with website CMS platforms (WordPress, Wix, or similar) and basic SEO principles • Experience running or assisting with paid social campaigns • Excellent communication, time management, and project coordination skills • Graphic design abilities to support branded collateral creation • Comfortable working in fast-paced, on-site environments—construction sites, residential communities, events, etc.
