**Summary**
The Social Media Manager supports the execution of FM's global social media program, under the direction of FM’s Director of Social Media, helping bring the company's expertise, thought leadership, and business priorities to professional audiences across social channels. This role is responsible for day-to-day execution across content development, editorial decision-making, publishing, employee advocacy, community engagement, performance reporting, and social media operations. Working closely with stakeholders across Marketing, Communications, Digital Marketing, PR, and business teams, the Social Media Manager helps ensure social media supports brand visibility, audience engagement, and marketing objectives through consistent, high-quality execution. This role also contributes to the development and adoption of social media standards, workflows, and governance processes that help integrate activity across teams and regions.
This is a hands-on role for a strong writer and organized operator who understands how B2B brands show up on social media. The right candidate has sharp content instincts, an eye for social-first creative, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work across teams to turn complex topics into clear, compelling content. **Schedule & Location**
This position is based in Norwood, MA. Other eligible locations to be considered are Boston, MA or Johnston, RI. This is a full-time office-based position with flexibility for up to two remote working days per week, based on business needs.

**Responsibilities**
* Plan, create, publish, and optimize social media content across organic channels that supports FM’s brand, thought leadership, executive visibility, marketing campaigns, research, events, and business priorities. Apply strong editorial judgment to develop channel-appropriate content that engages professional audiences and drives business objectives.
* Manage day-to-day social media operations, including editorial calendar planning, publishing schedules, content intake, approval workflows, documentation, publishing standards, and coordination with stakeholders across Marketing, Communications, PR, Digital Marketing, regional teams, and external partners.
* Monitor social media channels and audience engagement, supporting community management, employee advocacy programs, social listening activities, and audience interaction opportunities. Identify and escalate sensitive, reputational, or business-critical issues as appropriate.
* Analyze and report on social media performance, translating data and insights into recommendations that improve content effectiveness, audience engagement, campaign performance, and overall channel growth.
* Stay current on platform updates, emerging trends, content formats, and AI-enabled technologies, proactively identifying opportunities to improve content performance, creative execution, workflow efficiency, and operational excellence.
* Support the development and adoption of social media governance, standards, and best practices, helping drive consistent execution, brand alignment, and operational excellence across global teams and stakeholders.
**Qualifications**
**Required Education**
* Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field. In lieu of a degree, a combination of education, work experience and skills will be considered.
**Required Work Experience**
* Minimum of 5+ years of relevant B2B social media experience for a brand at a matrixed corporate organization, where success is dependent on working cross-functionally across teams.
* Experience creating, editing, publishing, and optimizing social media content for professional audiences.
* Experience managing editorial calendars leveraging project management tools like Workfront, Asana, Monday.com or similar.
* Experience using enterprise social media publishing, employee advocacy, listening, and reporting platforms like Sprout, Sprinklr, and Hootsuite.
* Experience coordinating organic and paid social media activity across multiple teams, regions, business units, or stakeholders to support consistent execution and integrated planning.
* Experience partnering with designers, video producers, agencies, or creative teams to produce social-first content.
* Experience supporting executive or subject matter expert social media content as needed.
**Required Skills**
* Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and grammar skills.
* Strong social media content instincts, including an eye for design and a sense of what captures attention in-feed.
* Ability to translate complex business topics into clear, useful, and engaging social content.
* Strong understanding of LinkedIn and how professional audiences engage with B2B content.
* High attention to detail, sound judgment, and professionalism when managing public-facing content.
* Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities without losing momentum.
* Collaborative, team-oriented working style with comfort operating across functions rather than in a silo.
* A sense of personal responsibility, accountability, and willingness to roll up sleeves to get the work done.
* Ability to interpret social media performance data and apply insights to future work.
* Comfort with AI-enabled content and productivity tools, used responsibly and with strong human judgment.
