**SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER - ROLE OVERVIEW**
Global Rescue is looking for a social media leader to join its growing marketing team. We need someone who can operate across the full range of social media management, from setting channel strategy and building an integrated content plan to writing a single timely, well-crafted post. Social media is more than a distribution channel for existing content; it is a way to build community, strengthen our brand, join relevant conversations, and drive measurable awareness and conversion. The right candidate combines strategic judgment with hands-on execution, brings genuine enthusiasm for travel, and understands social platforms as both an experienced marketing professional and an active personal user. You should be highly organized, proactive, data-driven, and comfortable managing a wide variety of projects in a fast-paced environment.
**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
· Set and evolve Global Rescue’s social media strategy, translating business and brand priorities into clear channel plans, content themes, publishing cadences, and measurable goals.
· Own hands-on content development and publishing across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, and emerging platforms, from campaign concepts and editorial calendars to concise, platform-native copy and individual real-time posts.
· Engage actively with the travel community, identifying opportunities to insert Global Rescue into relevant conversations about travel, safety, security, and preparedness.
· Build and manage a disciplined social content calendar, coordinate inputs and approvals, anticipate upcoming needs, and move work forward proactively.
· Partner with the content creation team to adapt existing material for social channels and identify opportunities for new, timely, platform-appropriate content.
· Manage Global Rescue’s social reputation, including monitoring conversations and sentiment, responding thoughtfully to comments, promoting positive reviews, and escalating issues when appropriate.
· Use performance data to evaluate content, channels, audiences, and campaigns; clearly report what is working, what is not, and what should change next.
· Plan, execute, test, and optimize organic and paid social initiatives that support awareness and conversion among consumers, partners, and enterprises.
· Monitor platform changes, audience behaviors, and emerging formats, and recommend practical opportunities to test new capabilities or expand into new channels.
· Support selected influencer relationships when they align with broader social and business goals.
· Provide general marketing support to the team and assist with other projects as needed.
**QUALIFICATIONS:**
· Significant professional experience leading social media strategy and execution for a company or organization of comparable size and complexity to Global Rescue.
· A demonstrated ability to move easily between high-level strategy and detailed execution, including writing sharp, accurate, engaging copy for individual posts.
· Strong personal familiarity with major social platforms as an active, prolific user, paired with sound professional judgment about how brands should participate on each platform.
· Meaningful personal travel experience and an authentic interest in travel, traveler needs, and the conversations that matter to the travel community.
· Exceptional organization and project-management skills, with the ability to manage calendars, deadlines, approvals, campaigns, and reactive opportunities without losing attention to detail.
· A proactive working style: able to spot opportunities, recommend a course of action, and move projects forward with limited direction.
· A data-driven mindset and experience using social analytics to set goals, measure performance, test ideas, and improve results.
· Excellent writing and editing skills, with an adaptable voice and a portfolio of published social or digital content.
· Strong creative judgment, curiosity, and the ability to generate original ideas while maintaining brand consistency.
· The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hybrid environment while advocating for a point of view, collaborating effectively, and being a strong team player.
