The sporting goods manager leads the camping, fishing and gun sales departments in all the department’s day-to-day activities in addition to supporting the store manager in all general management capacities. They are highly knowledgeable in sporting goods products and a resource for customers and employees. The department manager will model Gold Star selling procedures and place customer satisfaction and employee development as the cornerstones for their department’s success. o Encourage department employees to take ownership for their performance and career development plans; follow up on a regular basis. • Ability to motivate and train staff to meet or exceed sales and customer service standards.
