Your impact
As lead strategist on a Fortune 100 healthcare client's omnichannel engagement program, you'll own the strategy and be accountable for its performance, driving acquisition, retention and lifetime value across email, SMS, app, web and landing pages.
You'll help the client deliver personalized, real-time engagement across channels and connect customer journeys and data across systems, so every interaction moves the business forward.
Who you'll work with
You'll join Sumeru's Digital Customer Experience practice in Los Angeles, working within the client-facing front-end team of strategy and creative. You'll own the strategy and ensure the creative delivers on it, collaborating closely with our marketing technology, CRM and analytics teams and the client's brand, digital and medical/legal/regulatory stakeholders.
What you'll do
Strategy and client partnership
• Serve as a primary strategic counterpart to the client, from brand managers to director-level stakeholders, and lead strategy workshops on site and remote.
• Build the annual omnichannel roadmap with clear KPIs, in partnership with Sumeru's account manager.
• Align each project strategy with Sumeru's account manager before presenting it to client stakeholders for approval.
Customer experience and journeys
• Own the end-to-end customer messaging strategy across lifecycle, transactional and engagement communications, so every interaction is timely, personalized, compliant and aligned to business outcomes.
• Design lifecycle journeys from acquisition and onboarding through retention, grounded in journey mapping, personas and segmentation.
• Define personalization strategy with the CRM and data analytics teams: tailored content, next-best-action and offers by segment.
Campaign strategy and creative alignment
• Own campaign strategy and content strategy for unified omnichannel campaigns across email, SMS, app, web and landing pages, and partner with the marketing technology team on channel-level implementation.
• Translate campaign strategy into clear content and creative briefs, review creative work against the brief and client feedback, and confirm it's aligned with the strategy before client presentation.
• Steer work through the client's medical/legal/regulatory review without losing pace or quality.
Measurement and optimization
• Define KPIs with the analytics team and use reporting and attribution insights to drive optimization that continuously improves engagement, conversion and ROI.
• Run a structured testing program and act on audit findings across targeting, messaging, creative and cadence.
• Present performance and recommendations to client stakeholders, and bring the client new ideas from emerging martech and AI trends.
What you bring
• 6+ years in digital marketing strategy, with at least 3 years as lead strategist on enterprise accounts.
• Strategy ownership on a Fortune 500 or comparable enterprise account, including presenting to senior client stakeholders.
• Proven omnichannel and lifecycle CRM work across email, SMS, app and web, with retention or LTV results you can quantify.
• Hands-on expertise in customer journey mapping, customer marketing maturity assessment, omnichannel marketing, personalization, measurement and ROI, and contextual marketing.
• Ability to translate strategy into clear requirements for technology and analytics teams, with working knowledge of marketing automation, CRM, first-party data and privacy-compliant personalization.
• Excellent written and spoken English, strong copy judgment and a sharp eye for design quality, backed by a bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, communications or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Nice to have
• Experience in a regulated industry, ideally healthcare, pharma or medical device, including work through compliance or medical/legal/regulatory review.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and patient-data privacy as they apply to CRM marketing.
• Experience with an enterprise marketing automation platform such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe or Braze.
• Experience applying AI to personalization, content production or analytics.
• Agency background on enterprise accounts.
What success looks like
• First 90 days: you know the account's key strategies and the program's journeys, KPIs and stakeholders, and have delivered an audit with prioritized recommendations.
• First 6 months: you lead strategy on assigned campaigns and secure client approval on schedule.
• First year: acquisition, retention and engagement KPIs have measurably improved, and the testing program produces learnings that shape the next year's plan.
Your growth and benefits
You'll gain senior client exposure on a Fortune 100 account, with room to expand your scope as the account grows. Sumeru invests in professional growth and development at every level.
• A benefits package, including health coverage and paid time off
• Access to current martech and AI tools
• Collaboration with diverse, talented teams
