Strategic Account Manager (Paid Ads & SEO)

We are looking for a Strategic Account Manager to manage the relationships and strategic direction for our digital marketing clients. This position serves as the primary point of contact between our clients and our internal production team. You will be responsible for translating technical data into business results and ensuring long-term client retention. This role requires a candidate who can maintain a high volume of accounts while providing proactive communication and strategic oversight for both paid search and organic search services. Core Responsibilities • Act as the lead point of contact for a portfolio of 45+ clients across paid ads and SEO services • Lead all client communications including monthly performance reviews and quarterly strategy sessions • Manage client expectations and address performance concerns or budget adjustments directly • Coordinate with the technical director and contractor team to ensure campaign tasks are completed on schedule • Review performance data and translate technical metrics into clear business insights for clients • Identify and execute opportunities for account growth through upsells or service expansions • Oversee the client onboarding process to ensure business goals are clearly defined for the production team • Monitor account health and implement retention strategies for clients at risk of churning • Facilitate internal syncs to align client business objectives with technical execution • Maintain organized client records and communication history within project management software Ideal Candidate • 4 or more years of experience in agency account management, focusing on SEO and PPC • Technical literacy in Google Ads, Meta Ads, and SEO fundamentals • Proven experience managing a large volume of clients in a fast-paced environment • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on professional conflict resolution • Proficiency in data analysis using Google Analytics and Looker Studio • Experience with project management tools such as Asana or Monday.com • Ability to explain complex digital marketing strategies to non-technical business owners Benefits and Compensation • Starting at $75,000 base salary plus bonus opportunities based on retention and upsells • 401k plan with company match • Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance options • Pet-friendly work environment • Hybrid office model • Unlimited PTO • Continuing education support
