US Marketing and Communications Director

JOB SUMMARY

Lead the US Marketing & Communications Team in a way that creates synergy with the Partner Relations Team in communicating the vision and mission of Global Disciples clearly and in engaging ways. Be attentive to branding and quality of all mediums of communication. And serve with the US President, and the Senior Vice President of Stewardship & Advancement in developing major donors.

GOALS

This job exists to effectively execute the Marketing & Communication strategy for Global Disciples in the US through leadership of the Marketing & Communications Team and collaboration with the US Leadership Team in supporting the work of the organization.

1. Develop a clear, comprehensive communication strategy, that clarifies our positioning, enhances brand recognition and increases our effectiveness in communication

2. Communicate the vision and mission of Global Disciples in compelling ways so increasing numbers of people are actively engaged in praying, giving financially, volunteering, etc.

3. Generate funds by increasing donor leads through successful marketing for the entire organization, using market research, mission marketing, marketing communications, advertising, and public relations

4. Work closely and collaboratively with the US Leadership Team to develop strategies and communication-media pieces that create synergy for advancement

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develop a clear, comprehensive communication strategy, that clarifies our positioning, enhances brand recognition and increases our effectiveness in communication

Responsible for strategizing, executing, and overseeing all US marketing effortsDevelop a clear, comprehensive marketing strategy that refines target audiences and target marketsTogether with US President, determine the marketing and communications department’s KPIs and regularly track themSupervise the Marketing & Communication Team in ways that maximize their potential, ensuring quality and effectiveness of materials produced and events plannedLead in setting Annual Review and Plan of Action (ARPA) goals then develop and implement strategies to fulfil those goalsDevelop marketing and communications budget and track spending2. Communicate the vision and mission of Global Disciples in compelling ways so increasing numbers of people are actively engaged in praying, giving financially, volunteering, etc.

Seek to maximize the creative gifts, energy, and abilities of the Marketing & Communications Team to raise awareness of Global Disciples nationally and broaden the scope of our influenceServe as a Public Relations spokesperson and advocate for Global DisciplesOversee the development of communication pieces, publications, and digital media to ensure it all accurately reflects our Global Approach and DNA – and brings glory to GodWork with the Program Leadership Team to ensure that stories and photos are available and organized to document how God is at work in and through the discipleship-mission training, small business development, and LEAD training3. Generate funds by increasing donor leads through successful marketing for the entire organization, using market research, mission marketing, marketing communications, advertising, and public relations

Gather information on target audiences and target markets and apply learning to future projectsWork collaboratively with Partner Relations to schedule, plan and implement signature and public events to communicate vision and engage partners4. Work closely and collaboratively with the US Leadership Team to develop strategies and communication-media pieces that create synergy for advancement

Work closely with the US Leadership Team to reach cross-team goals

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be a committed follower of Jesus Christ and an active member of a Christian church.Passion for the mission and work of Global Disciples and alignment with its statement of faith, goals, purposes, and objectives.Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, marketing, communications, or a related field, with a preference for a Masters’ DegreeSignificant experience in nonprofit communications and marketingWillingness and ability to travel within US for events, meetings, etc.Ability to communicate, with passion, a case for supporting near-culture missions and the approach of Global DisciplesOutstanding relational, verbal and written communication skillsSelf-starter, initiator who is organized. Able to relate detail to the overall pictureAbility to work with a team to develop and implement a strategic planEffective use of multiple communications mediums to engage intercessors and donorsMicrosoft Office software experience. CRM database experience, Salesforce preferred. HubSpot experience also helpful.
